hello,i would like to tell my story a get any help anyone has to offer. I will make this as consise as possible,10 years ago I was hit in my left eye at work, that is the only eye I have sight in.when I went to the eye doctor he said I should get a lot of rest that night, long story short I didn't sleep a wink, because I kept looking at the clock I didn't sleep for 3 days I had developed anxiety that I couldn't fall a sleep,i had never had any anxiety before, my eye slowly healed butmy sleep anxiety got really bad.i would have breathing problems, anxiety pounding heart . I went to my family doctor and he said it was all anxiety a while later I had a heart attack, but still couldn't get my breath, then finally they discovered a blood clot in my lung. when this resolved I was breathing regulalarly again. here is the part that I hope might help someone I FINALLY GOT OVER MY ANXIETY INSOMNIA SO THERE IS AN END TO THAT HELL. I really cant give amany good tips on recovery but one is take the clock out of your bedroom. You are never really over it ,it is always on your mind just not as much, fast forward to march 2018 when started having pounding when I laid down,my cardiologist said it was irregular heartbeat, but begnign, but it riggered all my old feelings from 10 years ago and now I am right back to fearing I wont go to sleep. I am sorry this is so long mi just wanted to tell people who are in similar situations that it can get better and I know how much pain you are in.

Hi, thanks for sharing your story! It sounds like you've been through a lot. I'm going to try your tip about taking the clock out of my bedroom. Sorry to hear that you're beginning to experience the insomnia again...remember that it might not be exactly how it was last time and focus on those tools/tricks you learned to help you recover from the insomnia last time now. You beat it once and you can do it again! It may take some time but this won't last forever.
