Try reading, listening to music, drawing, etc. Just avoid overanalysing things.
I find sleeping extremely hard when I'm alone, I'm having that feeling of being way too comfortable with my room that it's become uncomfortable and it makes sleeping very hard - I toss and turn and my bed frame makes noises.. It's awful. I also scare myself when sleeping alone, so I keep myself up. Any external noises I hear I tense up and sweat!
Just try relaxing, reading, etc.
