not sure??

Postby scarred_cutter » Thu Sep 25, 2008 3:23 am

i suspect i have hypersomnia but i'm not too sure. my GP says i could but my mom says i'm being dramatic.

i sleep all the time. on an average day i'll get 12 hours of sleep. here's my schedule:

Go to sleep: 9.30pm
Wake up: 6.00am
I sleep about an hour and a half in school each day (really annoying because i miss out on lessons!)
Get home at 3pm and sleep until 6.30pm
Go to sleep: 9.30pm

In total: 13.5 hours (it can vary though because sometimes i get home at 4pm instead of 3pm)

i hate having to sleep all the time!

i do have depression-my mom thinks that's what makes me sleep, but i'm always tired. it's so annoying!

Hey,

Are you taking medication for your depression? - That could be what is causing it. If you aren't taking medication, then you might be infected with something such as a parasite. How long has this been happening?; and have you lost weight?

Fluoxetine is more commonly known as 'Prozac', and it's in widespread use. There should be lots of information about it's side effects on the Internet. I don't know what this other drug - lammagatrine - is. Check the box again!

Here are some side-effects of Prozac (Fluoxetine):

    - Suicidal thoughts or behaviour
    - Anxiety, agitation, or panic attacks
    - Hostility or aggressiveness
    - Engaging in unusual or dangerous activities
    - Restlessness or inability to sit still
    - Extreme elation or feeling of happiness that may switch back and forth with a depressed or sad mood
    - Other unusual changes in behavior
    - Hallucinations
    - Fast heart rate
    - Chest palpitations
    - Difficulty sleeping
    - Signs of an allergic reaction, including unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing

I have put in bold the ones that relate to you.

Take care,
Kevin

What do you mean? Does the pharmacy not give the tablets to you in a box? Every month, I get all of my medication and there is always a leaflet in the box for each type. This leaflet mostly contains information about side-effects.

yeah they do but i once used the leaflets etc. to find out how many it would be for me to overdose and then i did, so the doctors and my parents lock them all away from me and all i ever see are the actual pills

Is it okay for me to laugh at that? Sorry, I just think it's a bit funny - I hope you understand. Actuually, I remember that my mother took all of my medication from me afte I overdosed on Lexapro. I was 21 then, and it's a bit pathetic for a 21 year old to have his mother give him his medication.

Baby steps dude... ...baby steps... ...then you'll get there eventually.

Take care,
