is there help here or is it just a joke?

Is this website just a money making joke? Or are there people on these forums that truly want to help each other find a way out of the rabbit hole? If its legit forgive my cyncism...

I think this is a supportive site where people overall want to help. There have to be ads to support it but it's not about making money. It is a peer to peer forum so you get somewhat unconventional advise from time to time but mostly it's people who can relate to what you are going through or want to offer a kind word at least. Sometimes it can take a bit of time to get a reply, but I'd suggest reading, posting and answering posts in the relevant forum(s) and see for yourself.

Everyone has to find their own way out of the rabbit hole. Once you start trying to climb out, you can look around you for other people also trying to make the climb, but either way, you can use what's around you in as positive or negative a way as you want. If you are really trying to make that climb, others who are doing the same will probably see that and help, but "help" might not turn out to be what you expect it to be, if you expect it to come from others first.

I think the owners are in it for money but I believe there are a few members who help

I've been here for three years. I started as a regular member, became a mod after about a year, and then became an admin. The forum really helped me to find my way, and I had a lot of support here and it was a privilege to give something back.

There is a sense of community here if you look for it, with members looking out for each other, and the mods going beyond their call of duty to help people. It can be really rewarding to see the changes in a person as they heal.

The forum can't take the place of therapy, and this should never be the case. It's for peer support, and this in itself can be very valuable.

The mods and admin here aren't paid. We're all volunteers and none of us make any money. The site does have to support itself - hence the adverts - but the owner is really committed and dedicated to moving this site forward to being a community we can all benefit from.

It literally is what you make it. You can only take out what you put in. Replying to threads and hanging out in the Just for Fun forum can help you to feel a part of the community.

Money-making? Short of visiting the 'our partner' link, everything here's free.

Read my earlier reply in this thread. None of the mods here, me included, do it for the money. We are all volunteers, and we don't get paid at all, and we all started off as regular members. We are all dedicated to helping others here, and we've all also been helped ourselves by the forum. We often stay online late into the night, just to make sure the person we've been writing to is okay.

You generate advert revenue every time an ad appears on a page you visit, they get even more if you click on the advert

I genuinely feel that people are here to help each other. I have only been on the site for a few months now but I feel great with the feedback I give and receive. If there is anything you need help with, don't be afraid to ask!
