Do non-disordered people work just because...

Do non-disordered people work just because they like their lifestyle or whatever?

Is having a "career" or the "type" of job a "status symbol" to them?

Just curious.

If you're good at something, or you're needed, you can feel pride/sensible routine from it.

If you don't have a job you're missing out in a lot of things for the most part so I think it could symbolize something right thur.

Some people are fortunate enough to have a job they enjoy, they want to do it.

For even more people they have bills to pay so they work, they might not like it that much.

Agreed.

I just was at my sister's house and her and her fiance, don't just have jobs to like... i don't know pay bills and house payment but for the "lifestyle" factor. and i was expecting it to be like... a kind of selfish interest of money in my head is my model for it. but they are very very non-selfish people is why i was asking. i mean they seem to "love money", but if money equals love they bought gold if that makes sense... ? it's just wierd i haven't seen it before.

i guess it's just that my frame of reference is that most rich people are snobs, or in my household i grew up in money is a form of power or control, and it's not here. now i am getting the vibe a little bit though that it could be a form of social status for her fiance a bit... but my sister seems to like hosting parties and get together and friends and just... just lives in a damn nice house. not to brag or anything.

Labor, after being in an abnormal situation for so long, it seems as if you are now beginning to see what "normal" is!

Nons can work for a variety of reasons, just as disordered people can. Some may be ambitious, some may not. Some may be lazy, some may not, but essentially they are living as opposed to existing, and many of them find a great deal of pleasure in the little things, with no need for drama, confrontation, confusion or complexity. In big ways or smaller ways, they find their niche in society, and contribute towards it because they are a part of it, rather than being on the outside looking in. Some of this may rub off on you.

Social status exists everywhere imo, especially depending on where you live (where I live, yes... or so I'm convinced).

I think it's just one of those stereotypes that tends to be true more often than not? Idk. :?
