has anybody felt like this? Need Help!

Postby england1966 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 1:49 am

Hello guys,

I feel keyed up all the time... all the time!!!... I cannot work due to anxiety and fatigue... and sometimes if I have something to do next day like even a doctors appointment I just cannot sleep at all. It is like there is something in my mind that will not allow me to relax. I have bouts of severe depression.

I was put on citalopram years ago and it didnt work but i took it for a couple of years thinking that maybe it might be working without me noticing.. silly i know but i was so ill! i just couldnt think much let alone leave house and speak to new docs.

i know worry about SSRI's due to all side effects... my fatigue is major problem! which also makes my other biggest symptom anxiety much worse!

i just cant see any kind of medicine on the list that might work for me without a side effect that worries me.

i am considering thinking about mood stabilizers

Hi, england1966! You could ask someone you trust to help you out and go with you to the doctor so you can have some company and someone who would make sure you'll do it.
There are people who are feeling way better thanks to meds, give it a try again. Tell your doc everything, including about your worries.

I know exactly what you mean. If i have somewhere to go the next day i keep obsessing about how im getting there, who im going to see, how i look, ect... and endup not sleeping and not waking up the next day. I was also put on citalopram at some point but due to my borderline i was switched to Seroquel XR and although i think they will put up my dose, it IS somewhat helping me. And i am forcing myself to go to sleep around 10PM and be up for 7:30 even if im not doing anything. Your body will respond very well to routine. I also try to walk my dog everyday just so i go out and see the world and not stay in my crazy bubble.

It takes a lot of work, but you can do it. Im proof!

As for the fatigue, i use to get it really bad with citalopram. I couldnt wakeup in the morning. And also when i had my "lows" its like life stopped and i slept all day/night. But trying the best to make a routine out of everyday is really helping, so is the right medication.

:-)
