Hi,I am making presentation about Phobia.
I am gathering information from different people about these questions:
1-Why women are more phobic than men?
2-It is case of society or culture?
Please answer me honestly and do not forget mention your country.
Thank you,

Hi,

Which phobia are you referring to?; or are you referring to just a general sense of fear? I think that you mean just a general sense of fear. In that case, I believe that women are more fearful than men because of both society and culture. For example, in Arab culture, women have less rights than men. therefore, many Arab women would live with a sense of fear (I think). However, in countries such as USA, UK, Ireland, etc., it is society itself that causes fear. For example, news reports always focus on negatives, and there are lots of stories of men raping women. There is also a lot of pressure on females to look 'good' (i.e. - physically), and this can take a toll on their morale.

وانا آسف
You asked for my opinion, aicha84, and I gave it to you. I did not expect this reaction from you. However, my opinion is based on what I hear/read in the mass media. I'm sure that the situation is not bad for every female in your society.

I will be honest with you: I actually appreciate Arab culture, and I think that it is better than Western culture.

A lot of people do think it's their right to rape or abuse women ... It's all over the place that it's known and ok for that. Not saying that everyone there feels that way, but look at Cleric Abu Hamza, he tells men to do this... that it's their right etc.

Salam to you too, aicha84. I guess we all must be careful about what we read in the mass media. aicha84, I regularly watch Al Jazeera and Press TV news channels. Press TV is based in Tehran, Iran. The news stories they have are very different from the Western news channels, such as Sky News and CNN. I will be more ceraful in the future about making judgements based on little facts.

Take care,
Kevin

In the United States of America, man and women have rights to freedom and justice regardless of gender; the "Why women are more phobic than men?" question that you ask, it is an onion you have but it does not apply here.

Cheers!
