new scary way of thinking

Postby valleyshadows » Sun Jan 21, 2007 12:47 am

i haven't been on here for awhile but my anxiety has turned into derealization and i have a new thought pattern... i keep constantly keep thinking of my mind, how i am able to think of things and just everything to do with the mind. Im very confused on how i am able to think of one thing to another thing.. sounds strange..but thats dr dp for me.. i probably asked this a few times but is it possible for this new way of thinking to lead me to just go nuts.. like this can't be good for me...and im just afriad that from the way i think i will go crazy! i always get responses like "i don't think you will go crazy" . is there anyone who can explain to me how this wont lead me to go crazy. the only hope i have of me not going nuts is because this all started after panic attacks then that lead to worry and fear and now that led to derealization and now this new frightning way of thinking, i've read that anxiety canot lead to insanity but its really feeling like it is..i feel like im the only one who has this way of thinking.

Im totally convinced you will NOT GO CRAZY.

I think you're getting anxious about anxiety. I' mwith you on it. I feel the same way, but do not worry, you're probably an over emotional, sensitive soul. Free your mind from all your thouhts.
Try deep breathing and Yoga. It has helped me trmendously.

Also try writing a journal, face your fears and know in your hear that "this too shall pass"

When I read your post I was trying to think of how to explain my EXACT problem!!! I cannot believe I saw that as the first post I clicked ( im new here - just joined ). I am always thinking about 'the way I think' and am always trying to 'figure out' why my mind is doing one thing or another.

re: Depersonalization and Derealization

Postby WhoFeelzIt » Mon Jan 29, 2007 11:39 pm

Hi,

"Overthinking" and feelings of derealization are closely related. Check out this link: http://www.mc2method.com/depersonalizat ... ation.html .. To me it sounds almost exactly like what you're describing. Also, if you ever saw the movie "A Beautiful Mind", you'll remember the quote that "people who are going crazy don't know they are going crazy". In other words, your fear of going insane is a pretty good indicator that you're not.
