Vacuum Pump For ED

Postby Whitey » Wed Sep 16, 2009 11:40 am

Besides my other problems as indicated on this site, I also have partial erectile dysfunction. This results, I believe, from a combination of prostate surgery five years ago and advancing age. I have been working with my urologist for years on this and have tried all the mainstream drugs. They have become less and less effective over time. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of firmness and size, my penis can only get up to about five and that does not last long enough for satisfying intercourse much of the time. He has prescribed a vacuum pump which is on order as I write. This is supposed to be effective in 80 percent of cases where drugs have failed. Some say they definitely work. Does anyone have any first-hand (or first-penis actually) experience with these pumps?

Hi,

I've noticed that this has gone unreplied-to, but have been tentative to reply. However, I will just say this to you: Your doctor should be able to direct you to specific resources regarding the product. Also, Im confidant that there are more [more relevant] websites out there that will have information for you.

For what it is worth, if anyone else has the same problem or is otherwise interested, I have received the pump that my urologist prescribed and have started using it. What follows is a short summary of my experience so far. First, since it was prescribed, my insurance covered it; otherwise it would have been over $400. My doctor and the instructions that come with it say to practice making erections 15-20 minutes a day for a couple of weeks before attempting intercourse; this I have done for 4-5 days so far. The vacuum definitely makes the penis swell up quickly--"wide" and to a lesser extent long. However, I have found that after it reaches its maximum size, I still have to wait five minutes or so with the pump still on to let it get firm enough for intercourse. At that time, I can apply the tension ring which will maintain the erection. So far, I have not become comfortable with the application of the ring. It "snaps" off the pump onto the penis, grabbing any loose scrotum it can, which is painful. I guess this is why they say: "practice." It does take a certain amount of skill and experience, I suppose. Once the ring is successfully in place, it does maintain the erection until it comes off. This is not a perfect situation but it is somewhat of a solution to ED.

You seem to be so logical and analytical, Whitey. The way you described the operation of the device made me believe as such. I'm glad that it is 'working' for you. Personally - as I've mentioned to you before - I've little interest in sex and such things.

Good luck my friend,
Kevin

Kevin,
Thank you for your positive comment. As individuals, we all have our own situations to deal with. I guess that I should be better off if I shared your disinterest in sex at this point in my life. I would not have to resort to the methods that I do, or suffer the frustrations that I do. It is hard for me to understand how anyone could not be interested in sex as you because I have always had such strong sexual needs from an early age. Often, in my earlier life I was frustrated because I had the appetite for, and would have been very happy to have sex 4-5 times a day, if I had a willing partner. Imagine my frustration when I did not have one. Now, I still have the psychological drive, constantly lusting after " attractive others " but my sexual organs are no longer there for me, naturally. Frustration still reigns. Good luck to you.

Hmm, maybe it would be good if we swapped our relative sex drives for a while - yeh - because I could certainly do with getting back into the 'game', as they say. In the long run, I think we'd both be better off finding some noremal level though, and not having one that's either too high (you) or too low (me). You talk about having a high sex drive in your earlier days though - I had one when I was younger, thruogh my teens. I never got to have sex during that period, but I used to masturbate an awful lot and look at porn every night of the week. Now, if I happen to see porn, it does absolutely nothing for me.

You probably just need "real life" experiences to re-awaken you. I hear what you are saying about porn; after a while it all looks the same. Having a soft, warm, sweet-smelling body in your arms is a lot different than watching porn "on the sidelines." I get my hair cut by a woman who rubs up against me while she is clipping away; she has no idea what she is doing to me:) Maybe you just need something like that.

Is she flirting with you do you think?; or is that just the way she does it (cut hair, I mean... ... :P )?

I don't think think she is flirting with me; her bodily contact is almost unavoidable because of the nature of her work and her physical size. Nevertheless, it is very pleasant and exciting to me. I have had other women cut my hair and I experience the same thing. When I was in Thailand, these little gals in bars would come over and for a few baht, they would give an upper body "bath" under my shirt. It was very exciting on its own, but especially because of those soft little bodies pressing up against me. It would really make me horny as can be! My whole point though is that close contact with a soft, warm, sweet-smelling body is a hell of a lot more stimulating to me than watching porn; I suggest it might be for you as well.

Out of that post by you, the only thing I'm wondering is why you were in Thailand in the first place?! I actually know a chap who was my 'friend' throughout childhood (he used me really... ...) who now lives in Thailand. He went there on your typical 'trekking' holiday but then met a Thai girl. He then married her recently I think and is really happy there. As far as I know, he's teaching English.
