There is always ignorance with mental illnesses. Many people want to believe that there is something wrong with you if you have ANY kind of mental illness. And the sad thing, with how the media and Hollywood portray any kind of disorder, they always take the extreme part and push it even more. And often times, THAT is the kind of information people will have. Not the real evidence.

I recently revealed to my family that I have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), and they ended up reacting as if it was a joke and that I was acting like a little brat. So ever since then, I really have been keeping my distance towards them because they are not going to help me with their attitude for recovery.

Remember, not everybody will be accepting. And perhaps you should go and ask the system to see if they were taking over and you weren't even aware. Communication is key for being able to avoid having these kinds of conflict such blacking out in the middle of the day.

I do wish you well.
