This is a question that I cannot answer, but a therapist can. When we have time loss of course we don't have a clue what is going on while we loose that time.

I think many of the same things would still apply however. Just because you are absent does not mean 2 other parts were not present.

This may not be the right word for what is going on with us.This happens all the time. The littles and me do the co- fronting thing all the time.We are bad about getting up early in the morning and watching cartoons on the computer together. The littles enjoy being able to push the buttons. You could say this is our special time together but no matter what label one puts on it we are together doing thing.Sometimes too many fingers at the key board does cause problems, everyone wants their turn. :D Some time we do science programs for kids in our community.I do not do well speaking in front of groups of people but the two olders can come out, speak with the children and I handle the tech support you could say.We are all doing this together. Me trying to speak before a group alone I freeze up but the two olders breeze right through it.
I guess in some ways the olders keep me from looking like a total coward and make it possible to do things I would never attempt on my own.Hope this make sense.

Only one Alters came come "front" with you at a time though right?

Yes, I think most of us here can relate to what you posted. I like to ask Alters to come forward that want to do something like - drive, play a game, etc... It seems to brighten their whole day!

There can be several of us that front at a time.It is hard to understand. We talk to each other and work together is the best we can tell you.We quess it is like we delegated duties that each will perform when we are fronting more than one up front the best we can tell you.It is cool when the littles are fronting with me.We have fun and it can be shear joy. We are sure the desert lizards wish we would leave them alone when we are out together running crazy in our yard. :D

Recently I have been having trouble with too many in front at once when talking about sensitive issues. Wires get crossed and whoever is talking keeps getting derailed before they manage to make their point. It's like we are all crowded in together and tripping over each other.

What you Watcher and Una describe sounds foreign to me. That does not mean it is not possible of course, but it sounds like what I understand DDNOS-1 to be.

Don't hit me!

Our system is 100+ people... it's quite common for multiple people to be loud/front at the same time for us. :) Usually, one person will be co-fronting with me and the rest come and go all day, but we've have about five or six people shoved front before.
All through history, the ways of truth and love have always won.

Category Triggers

DDNOS-1 can have over 100 parts as well as DID. In DID however there is more than one part that is an Apparently Normal Part. In DDNOS-1 there is only one ANP, but there can be a multitude of Emotional Parts.

In DID, as I understand it, and how it is with me - only 2 parts can come front at anytime, but yes ... through the day many others can switch in and out with those parts - but it is not possible to have more than 2 parts front at a time.

The way I understand it is that those with DDNOS-1 can have so many parts present at once or that those parts are not isolated as much as with DID that those with DDNOS-1 appear as a mess. They seem to hurt and feel more than the person with DID. They appear much more distressed than someone with DID. Their parts of self are not as isolated.

In DID, the ANP's handle much of life - there can even be one for each stressful situation. ANP's make life in general easy compared to those with DDNOS-1 that only have one ANP. Also usually with a female with DID, the ANP is hypo-aroused - again making it simply easier to handle life.

why? Why would it not be possible? And when you say front, do you mean co-conscious or co-present or both or neither.
