The body is terrified of going to her doctor appointment today. She had written a like five page letter about the symptoms she's having and she is afraid that they are going to lock her up. The anxiety in her is just over the top.
Jo said she'd go for her instead, and the host agrees, as long as Jo took notes on what the doctor said.
The problem? Jo doesn't want to shower, get dressed, or anything, before we go. She think's it's fine to go in pajamas and with her hair messed up because it's "only going to take a half an hour." This, to me, is unacceptable. The body and some of the alters have problems with hygine and I'm the one who makes us get dressed, take a shower, put makeup on, ect.
I'm not going to let her go there a mess. So I took over.
I hope the host is okay with that, I can't really get ahold of her. I'm trying to communicate with her but she's in a serious state of distress over this, and I'm not getting through to her.
The good thing about having Jo go is she's not afraid to drive on main roads and the only way we know how to get there is the highway. But, I feel up to the challange. I've never driven on a major highway, but I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm a little nervous, don't get me wrong, but it can't be that bad....Plus it will be early in the morning when there shouldn't be a lot of cars on the road.
It's just, we need to function. And taking a shower daily is inportant. Feeling good about the way you look (because Jo and some of the others will get down on themselves about how they look like a boy) is important. Going as-is will show the doctor that we indeed do have a problem, but admitting it is the first step and trying to fix the problem is the next step. We don't need to "prove" to him that we struggle in this area.
I really, really hope the host is okay with this but I don't think there's a reason she should be mad. I know almost as much as Jo, as far as the symptoms she has that requires medication. As to the others in our system, Jo's got me beat, but that's worked out more through therapy instead of being controlled by medicine.
I got this. Jo doesn't.
