Tom had enough

I was sat in the warehouse at work and my boss came down and had a go at me and was blaming me for £3,585.64 worth of stock missing when i work 2 days a week and this item showed up on the 5th of this month and tom had enough aparently and told him that it isnt my problem and if it was our fault he'd be happy th take the heat but just because we booked it in does not mean we lost it and if he wants to blame us then he better get proof because if he wants to try it we'll take him to cort for victimisation in the work place.

This wont end well but dose this make tom the protector in my system or just sick of my boss?

Perhaps a little less defensiveness would be more effective? One way to respond to an angry boss is to listen with whatever detachment you can muster then reframe their problem not as an accusation of theft but as a request for help. "Okay, I think you mean this stuff came in 2 weeks ago and now you can't find it? All you know is I logged it in. Do you want me to help you find where it went after that?"

Sounds like a protector to me; but he was probably fed up as well. It's good that he would stand up for you, but I agree Una with the less defensiveness.
