Marathon, anyone?

Postby epluribusunum » Sun Dec 04, 2011 5:09 am

I began training with a certified endurance running coach today as I prepare to run my first marathon in June. Years ago, I ran 5 miles a day and thrived on it, but I let stuff get in the way of the joy that brought to me. The two miles I did today felt like heaven, and this coach cleaned up my biomechanics so I did not feel jarred or winded! On a hilly course! It was amazing.

It happens that I have an alter named Coach. He is NOT my running coach! But he loves exercise, and he was very happy today while we were in the training session.

My T will be happy that I am exercising. He gets on my case periodically about it because he knows I was a former "intrinsic exerciser" up until 5 years ago. Then I started decompensating.

Anyway, I'm happy to have this part of my life back, with a very wise and supportive trainer guiding me.

Horray for you! That's great!! I would love to get back on my bicycle. I really need to just stop with the excuses :). Glad to hear you are doing something that makes you happy.
