There is an alter hiding in my system. I know the alter is there because I lost time and when I came back the scene was weird and as far as I can tell the alters that I know about were absent then too. Creepy...
Has this happened to you? Did it ever turn out to be a known alter playing mind games with you?

Yeah. That happened to me once before. And it turned out to be three Alters who had been around since I was a kid. Somehow they managed to hide themselves from me for years. I don't how or why, but they managed it. (The three are Scream, Unknown, and Meranda).
They all just sort of "popped" up one day and gave a brief summary of themselves. That was a...weird day to say the least.

yep has happened to us too. But this guy who was doing it was an abuser introject and was just playing games without our minds to make us psychotic. he thrives on chaos and he got it that time because everyone was blacked out with NEVER happens with us. he came to the front shortly after and continued to hurt and threaten the others and got us in some potentially horrific situations... we laid down the law which he had to abide by and he refused and took things to the next level and got the consequences for his actions. Needless to say, he's now locked up and will be allowed out when he can abide by the rules again.
hope you newcomer isn't that scary! lol Probably isn't though, sometimes, they just don't know how to do things when they're first revealing themselves. It takes our guys and girls a few days to get to know how things work with co-con. and all that. It's probably whats going on for you. They're still learning and figuring it all out.
Do you have an ISH who can find them and welcome them and teach them all there is to know about being at the front? This is what happens with my system and it works really well.
Goodluck with it!

I don't know if I have an inner self helper (ISH) or not. I think not. Perhaps Alter 2 will take on the job.

hey Una, even if they don't call themselves the ISH, its likely someone in the system will seem to know more about everyone and know whats going on at any given time...
I'm sure someone in your system will take on the job, after all, who doesnt like meeting more of 'their own kind?' lol
Good luck with it, i think internal communication will help here too,try to keep telling everyone inside that youre ready to get to know them when they're ready and that they are safe now and its safe to come forward that you will look after them etc... Sometimes a little reassurance goes a long way.. And don't worry if they dont reply, it doesnt mean they;re not listening!
