hi ladys and gentelmen, i hope you dont mind me asking this and feel free to let me know if it is unsensitive in any way.
i as sead befor have spent alot of time on the bpd forum, but i am curious about how you guys and galls comunicate inter-personaly
i understad if that is a terebly personal question, and am sorry if it is ofensive.
im trying to get some insight about the diference between bpd and did, when it comes to alters.
i do chat to my self in my head, and it is pretty like there is a child in here amongst some strange goings on in outher areas.
im not shure if there just mal adaptive defence mechanisms or not, but i have ego states i guess, but there is ths young child, i think i have mentioned befor, and is verry happy ushaly but quite scared at times, i guess this is what they call the inner child. he sits within me and i get sensations or thoughts that he is scared and not feeling safe but i tell him it is ok and temp him out to be part of me, and sometimes he is fully me and then i am so happy.
hope this makes sence.

Some people have both DID and BPD, but this is rare. On a population level, the big difference between DID and BPD is in the extent of dissociative symptoms.
Dx DID older woman married w kids.
0 Una, host + 3, 1, 5. 1 animal.
2 older man. 3 teen girl.
4 girl behind amnesia wall. 5 girl in love.
Our thread.

Before they know they have DID, some multiples think they are just talking to themselves. Alters usually sound like thoughts that aren't coming from you. Basically, it's hearing thoughts that you didn't think. You might hear thoughts that surprise you, or sometimes argue with your thoughts (I mean really argue... not just weigh options).
Didn't you say there's more than one other person (a guy and a child), and that you're not in control, when they're out? That sounds more like DID. You talked to your new therapist about them, right? Did he say anything about them?
