our host is gone

Postby Sia » Sat May 21, 2011 6:53 am

Our host, Sarah, has ended up locking herself away. I know its not permanent but we are all missing her presence. I'm unsure how well we can function without her courage and motivation to be honest. Has this happened to any of you? It seems we can't communicate with her either...

I wanted some time to myself, but not like this.

Likari, the one who is also honest, courageous, and motivated..Well, the rest of us locked her up once. Because she had a bad temper. And got very physical when threatened, getting us all into trouble. So we locked her up. We all missed her, and needed her, after a while, we unlocked her, but I can't explain how we did all that in the first place. So, its just something you need to figure out. I don't know how, I am not expert, I don't have all the answers, but maybe if you see a psychiatrist, or someone, that might be able to help you, you may be able to unlock her. If that is out of the question, and cannot be considered, I suggest you try someway to unlock her on your own. I am sorry I can't be of any true use.

It has not happened to me[*] but I have read many similar stories in books and on the web. One story is by the host, who prefers to stay inside while an alter fronts for her. The host comes out to post on support forums as part of her therapy. The alter is married with children; the host does not acknowledge the alter's husband as her husband but does acknowledge the children.

Sia, do you have any sense of what triggered your host? What couldn't she deal with, that caused her to go inside?

[*] Oops, forgot to add this earlier. The asterisk is here because I don't know if I actually am the host. I have a strange feeling about this.

We ended up finding her. Richard found the key she locked herself away with. She was triggered by our companion who is discovering her own alters. Sarah ended getting upset at her for something and thought she caused a trigger and would lose her.

Unfortunately Sarah is still struggling to accept our situation. Even though she is with us, she has a heavy bias to other hosts and does not want Cassandra to leave her or be a multiple. Everyone else in her life has left her when she needed them most, so she feels that it will happen again.

The only way she was willing to come back was when I was talking with Cassie. I'm unsure how she was understanding things as I didn't sense her presence. Regardless, we are together again and we don't want our family to break up.

Thanks for the support everyone!
