That applies to me too. Like i said, everything's been a series of steps for me. At first I could only actually talk to them through reflections. Then I could see and talk to them in my head. Now I can interact with them in the real world. When I started actually seeing them, I started wondering if I had some form of Schizo too, because I know that Schizophrenics see things that aren't there. If that's the case, then I'm more messed up than I thought.

Skitzo delusions don't take over the body :P

We're bigger oddities than that :D

I have had DID since (very young) but was not aware. Very good insight on here.
Yes canolime it is not fun being in the dark about yourself. Thank you everyone 4ore shedding more light on this subject. I have a question..? Why might one with DID not want to b photographed?
? I found out just recently that I was told @ 5/6 yrs. old I was not wanted (by my mother). I always felt like hiding and never wanted 2 exist. I never looked in the mirror unless abosulely necessary. I never did anything 2 make myself happy I always did 4 others and their happiness..if they were happy I was happy .

Hmm... they don't like how they look/the body doesn't match how they picture themselves inside, they're disgusted with themselves, or they're afraid being in a picture might help a bad person find them?

That's weird. Is it like you're partially shadowed or something like that? When hosts can't fully see something inside (it's dark or shadowy), that usually means they don't want to know something (denial).

Her words "He's in the shadows like a ghostthing"
Especially since I'm the only one she has this problem with. It's not like she can only see herself and Morgan (who likes to take care of the kids)
Of course it's hard to "just ask" because the kid's 3. I barely expect a straight answer out of the boys.
*shrug* As long as the child isn't coming out alone, right?

Seeing your alters? I'm not really sure if that's normal, and I can't expand that much on the other comments, but what is normal anyway? =D I'd say that if you 'sense' them strong enough, or have a clear enough image, then why not? It's not that strange. Heck, just think of it as having an imaginary friend-- except it's actually a real, different person.

... Sorry if that didn't make any sense. xD But yeah, my advice... advise... advice-- well, however you say it, just don't be afraid of standing out or something. How many people can say that? I mean, I think it's pretty awesome, but other people or yourself may have a different idea... so yeah... *Sinks back into corner*

This is DID we're talking about. Nothing's normal. :P

Seriously though, I've never heard of DID presenting that way, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Just atypical. Can you recognize the fact that she's not "really" there? (As in that if she tried to open a door she couldn't open it, she can't interact with the environment real, not she's a delusion she's not real because she's not. A personality is not a delusion.)So long as you don't find yourself walking into doors because she opened it while the body was on the other side of the room, it's no big.

Haha. No, they can't interact with the environment. They can sit on tables and chairs and whatnot, but when they want to move something, they just pass through it.
