help, question that needs an answer for my own safety

Postby imnotcrazy » Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:45 am

Hi I'm Rochelle,
I am a insider of Marie.
I recently had to leave my brother at home alone because he has been getting real bad temper tantrums and when he does it is scary.
Cronan can go absolutely crazy and throw $#%^ at his computer and smash things but recently he has been trying to lash out at me I came out just to get away from him.
I have tried to get him to go for walks and ask him to calm down but he won't listen. Its starting to become extremely scare and I am afraid he is going to hurt me or somebody else or even himself.

What can I do to stay safe and to keep him calm. Please if you have any ideas please please let me know.

Maybe Cronan is unsatisfied with his environment. You have to all meet each other and "tie up loose ends" in a general sense of things. You all have to agree what is going to happen and who is going to do what in the system. Without knowing your system that is the best advice I can offer at this point.

We all know each other and we are making things work. We all think that Cronan is getting into these temper tantrums because he has never been "out" and I have but the reason we won't let him "out" is because we don't want him hurting anybody like Jacob for instance or the children that we frequently look after.

Should I try rewarding him with something he likes if he can go a day with out misbehaving?
Should I make him move out?
Should I take away his computer?

Wait....are we talking about an alter or a physical person? Sorry, I get confused by the notion of alters as siblings...

If Cronan is an alter, I would suggest talking to him. Just sit down or lay down (I often do this at night) and have a discussion with your alters. Ask him why he does these things. Tell him you want him to be happy, and you are willing to make sacrifices for him if he will make sacrifices for you.

If Cronan is a person: at this point you need a third party. Cronan needs psychological counseling to get through this rage he is feeling.

Cronan, if he's an alter, may also benefit from counseling, sometimes other alters can provide enough, and sometimes counseling would be beneficial. Often a counselor can help get to the roots of what is making Cronan so angry. I am looking into a counseling myself.

I wish you the best.

Cronan is an alter just as I am.
I have tried talking to him but he refuses to talk back.
He will not discuss anything with me or the host.
Things are getting a little hectic and out of control.

The ideal thing is to have a very knowledgeable third party deal with him. Alters can run away from that sometimes so instead of the obvious there have to be backup plans.

Tell him that his behaviour is not good enough for the outside world. Not him, his behaviour. On the outside, things don't come back when you smash them, and his tempers make his behaviour too much of a risk.
He surely doesn't want to end up like certain other alters we know and love, locked away for our protection.

Perhaps some of his issues will be resolved once he gets time out. It might be reasonable to help him get out, if he does so in a supervised and controlled manner. A chance to prove himself. I understand that your host has the ability to pull others out. She can also drum up co consciousness from time to time. There are several in there who can quietly observe him, and displace him if things get out of hand.

As far as your safety goes... This is not a question about multiplicity. It is a question about being close to someone with major problems.
Go stay with a friend until this is resolved (you are doing this now). Put enough distance between him and you that he isn't a threat. No matter what happened in the past, you need to feel safe and that is all that matters. Leaving him alone won't kill him and in the end is better for everyone.
Failing that, get him some other supervision - send him on vacation or get somebody super strong or wise to move in.

He quite possibly has past issues, or some current problem, driving his outbursts. If reasoning with him doesn't work, perhaps a change of environment will help him to sort through his baggage.

Hi I'm Cronan

I am disappointed that my sister wrote on here about me but also this gives me a chance to say what is really on my mind.

She is my problem. She says that she does all the house work and stuff like that but thats not true! I do quite a lot. She thinks that I'm a lazy person and I'm always on my computer she makes me very mad.

That is all for now because I just worked myself up too much.
