Still confused about co-conciousness

Postby TooCloseToTheEdge » Mon Jul 12, 2010 9:21 pm

I can't understand a thing. Why am I semi-co-concious? Like...I can see, hear, talk, whatever with Tasi and Claire, but I cannot with Abigail and Kate (6 yo). Also, I don't remember what they've done (A and K). Kate can hear only Claire. And...Abigail none. Why is that? Is it "normal"?

a lot of people seem to have this... where only certain alters can communicate with certain other alters. i've got it too. i think its a matter of trust between alters... but thats just my opinion

It's from a lack of communication. You need to find other ways to talk to those two until they decide to open the line and go co-concious

Wow, so are you implying that it's a decision the alters are in control of? Or does it ever happen spontaneously? I hope others join in on this conversation. I also wonder a lot about "co-consciousness".

It was mentioned in my girlfriends' class by her teacher that co-consciousness applies to those with depersonalization disorder only. But clearly that is not the belief held here.

I read online that co-consciousness lends to those who lose very little time, or no time at all. Is this generally agreed upon?

Something the alters are in control of.

Clearly not the case.

I lose no time and I am fully co-concious. Co-conciousness is the first major step towards a stable system. No out of control blackouts.

Maybe I should start by writing to them? But the one who is 6 doesn't know how to write. I can tell Claire to talk to her. OMG! It' s too hard and confusing, and it's happening too quickly.

My system was like yours initially, actually there was a time we were all co-conscious, then we had another trauma & i lost years of memory (including memory of my alters) & we were all split up again. I lost time etc. Anyway... I then met Kerry (again) & we started talking, left notes in notebooks, on our palms etc. Slowly I re-met everyone & we're co-conscious again for the most part.

When me & Ker argue, she tends to 'detach' herself from me so I can't talk to her, but I always find a way to find her

If the little one can't write I think getting Claire to talk to her is a good idea. It can be totally overwhelming, but it's so worth it once you are co-conscious. Weird, but worth it.

Sorry, but we cannot concentrate long enough to read really long replies or threads so don't think we're being rude if we don't.
