Teddy Bears

Postby InfinitD » Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:12 am

So, our T (Debbie) is going on a second vacation next week well not really vacation, a mission trip. And I panicked because Meagan had already been cutting A LOT lately (from my middle back all the way down to my upper legs). She came out for a few minutes in therapy last Thursday and said she wanted a teddy bear. Debbie told me very strongly that she wanted me to get one and thought it would help the cutting and despair while she was gone.

I didn't really want to (maybe she'll think I like her :? ) and Veronica was LIVID  because she said a 13 yo is too old for stuffed animals. She even called Debbie at home to cuss her out or something I dunno but Debbie re-iterated that Meagan should have it. So me, Veronica, and Idget went to Toys-r-us and Idget picked out a bear.

It is very soft and is made by FAO Schwartz. It has on white pajamas with little brown bears on them and a pocket with FAO embroidered on it. Idget especially wanted that one because they had a key chain bear that matched (same pajamas). The key chain one is about 3 inches high and the "big" one is about the size of a baby doll.

I was worried because Idget didn't know Meagan was an insider and if she found out she might want one too, and then everyone? maybe? what a mess THAT would be. :!: But she figured it out anyway and it didn't end up being a problem because when she showed Debbie the bears, Debbie said she should have the little one. Now she makes me carry it around in my purse and says she's "sharing" it with Meagan who is " 'most sadder dan Rain "

As you can see, since she found out about Meagan anyway, Veronica and I were MORE THAN happy to let Idget have the job of giving the bear to Meagan.

To my VAST surprise    , Meagan is CONSIDERABLY calmer. How very weird.

Just thought I'd share this odd turn of events.

Cross your fingers for us next week without Debbie. Debbie said she'd call if possible sometime next week, but doesn't know if she'll have cell reception. However, even the hope makes me feel a little calmer too.

I think a lot of teens love their stuffed animals (even if they don't admit it  ). The bear(s) sound cute :D I don't think it's weird... stuffed animals are comforting :)

I hope all goes smoothly, while Debbie is away!

I'm 23 and have enough teddies to furnish probably over a hundreds kids rooms - with some left over. I'm constantly buying them & giving them to people (not that most people understand it)

As canolime said I don't think its unusual, I think they are comforting too, as do the kids in my system so its all fun really :)

Hope next week goes well x

Sorry, but we cannot concentrate long enough to read really long replies or threads so don't think we're being rude if we don't.
