###$ it up again

more memory lapses. some girl, i dont know who, i dont even recall her face or voice =/ but apparently we showed interest in each other and i gave her my phone #, this was apparently 2 days ago and she called me after 1 day. i hadnt a clue who she was, she kept mentioning stuff but i dont know i lost a days memory. cant just tell a complete stranger "oh i have this memory condition, i will randomly lose large chunks of time". she got realy angry and called me a dick for not remembering her probably wont hear from her again.

I would've called her a stupid c*unt (######6 forums allow dick but I can't say my favorite word without adding an asterkisk, bullllllllshiiiiiit). Maybe you should've told her that. Maybe she would've been more understanding, instead of arrogantly using parts she doesn't have as an insult (I only do it to counter the overused word of dick, so there).

Stop being ashamed of who you are. You don't have to say you're multiple but a simple "I have a really bad condition where I have memory loss from anywhere between a couple of hours to even a few days at a time, I'm sorry". That's all. No shame in that. And if she doesn't like that answer, she can SUCK that dick, cuz at least you gave her a real answer.

I agree with bates... no harm in telling her that you have a memory condition... at least its truthful... She will still probably not believe you but at least you are putting yourself out there...

ya, and if she still give you $#%^ after you tell her nicely, you could say something like; (i was trying to be nice to you, but if you really want to know, i thought you were a #*$@% from the very start!)

Reminds me of a short film one of the groups in my tv class did. Kid goes on a blind date with this chick, things are going awkward, she seems completely uninterested in him, finally they gets to the resturant. Some guy sits at the table next to them, she goes off about wanting to leave. So he writes a letter, folds it, hands it to her, and says he's going to bathroom, but actually slips out the back door. She opens the letter, as clips reveal he had a device that let him hear people's thoughts, and he could hear her thinking all sortsa nasty $#%^ about him, and the letter read something like "I could've helped you if you weren't a bitch" as the last clip reveals the guy that sat down was planning to kill everyone in the resturant and then stealing the money. And then as she reads the PS about how he didn't choose his name, it shows the psycho get up behind her, fade to black, gun shots. God, they didn such a good job! And I got stuck with the ASSHOLE group that shot a STUPID story without me! Almost failed the class cuz I couldn't figure out where to start editing with what they left me. Grrr.

Yeah I guess telling her you have a memory condition means you're not gonna lose anything either way, since it is the truth and if she doesnt accept it then she ain't worth yer time. I sometimes use that explanation for people who don't understand DID and the process of dissociation itself. I tend to warn people bout it before they get to know me too well

Bates, that movie those guys in your class made sounds awesome. Mah boyfriend made a movie like that in his final year of film studies, before he started dating us lot, which is funny because he didn't know what DID was, yet the film was INCREDIBLY DID-themed. Basically there are 4 actors and they all turn into each other at various points throughout the film as they go about their daily lives. NO SPEECH, and they used reverse-filming to make it. I reckon it'd made perfect sense to everyone on this forum, I'll try and get 'im to put it on Youtube
