Looking to meet littles

Postby Khxlxhxn » Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:34 pm

My wife has DID, and recently one of the littles, Des, has been asking extremely loaded questions. She is five so she has lots of questions. These include why can't she go to school with regular kids, why is she big and they are small, and why doesn't she have any friends her own age. I'm not really sure what to do in these situations. I told her that I could teach her, but she wants to learn with real kids. My wife works with children on the spectrum, so she is around kids all day. I think that is partly why Des wants to go to school so bad. What should I say? What can we do to fill these voids? I feel bad that she can't be like a normal kid, but also some situations aren't safe for her. My wife was thinking maybe meeting other littles would be helpful, and they they could form relationships in a safe space. Where should we look to do this?

We do have a couple threads for Littles to talk. I can't speak as to how to handle things as we're still working that out on our end of the world. There are a lot of people with a lot more experience than I have who could answer those questions.
