People with DID have been the victims of abuse we are not the abusers.

If you've got a voice in your head telling you to kill people go to a psych NOW.

This... ALL OF THIS.

In fact, studies show that not only are people with dissociative identity disorder no more likely to be violent than other people, but they are also more likely to be the victims of violence.

Also, as several professionals have noted when combatting the claim "they are mentally ill" when people get violent- there is NO mental illness with "homicidal desires" as a symptom. OTHER things lead to those problems.

Alters who to want to harm others for any number of reasons do and can exist, even if just internally, and likely do more than others want to admit, but I do not believe most direct it externally. To discount it entirely isn't helpful because there are alters who have thoughts or urges that people might not like, whether they are traits from abusers, a way of protection, or getting revenge. In saying that, it's still the responsibility of the host and/or system overall to learn how to help those types of alters and/or diffuse those thoughts/urges, etc. and get professional help if that is an issue.
