Explosion of alters

Thanks for that info. I was kind of curious since I can see an argument for both explanations and theories.

And I saw someone (SOHank?) mentioning 12-15 was an average number... counting the "shadow" and myself, we're at 13. That doesn't count the "kids" of everyone inside, which would increase that DRAMATICALLY - another 11+ o.O

For us many were aware to some degree or another, but either hiding or being hidden. There were a few though that were "dormant". Raina was dormant. To her, one day she is 15, the next she time traveled to her mid 30's.

I can't say for certain, but the last insider known to be created was around 12 ish years ago, but may have been a bit before that. She would have been early to mid 20's.

In cases were safety and stability are found, I think most "new" alters are ones finally feeling comfortable enough to show themselves.

We also have one right now that has gone somewhat back into hiding, at least from me, because I screwed up. It was a tough therapy session so I was asking about several that were probably involved. I asked how J. was and she came out, then got triggered by the situation. **TW I guess, since it did trigger J., but is really very benign. ** (Sitting in the car with the bio-kids at the grocery store.) ** End TW** I've talked through and they have listened, but still scared and hiding...

That sounds a lot like how Pixie and Kitten describe their experiences... At the time they _first_ remember they were about my age... then years later the next "real thing" they remember was many years later, and again suddenly "my age" (the body's age- I age with it, so...)... then again later, and so on... until I was 12/13 or so... They seemed to NOT age much at all until relatively recently when making themselves known to me (even without knowing they were alters and part of me/us)... and they have aged somewhat since then, basically having an "inner life" that mirrors (interpretative subconsciously) the stuff we went through in outside life...

They have a theory that this "sudden age change" thing has caused "pieces" to be left behind of what they were and that these are their "kids" inside, b/c they don't seem like full parts or anything like that, and b/c they are clearly linked/drawn to specific people inside (Pixie and Angel with their's, Kitten and Kaleb with their's, etc).
The doc says it is plausible and sounds like it's sensible- as much as anything inside can be to outside observation anyway.

But that sudden change in age as the system needs is certainly familiar sounding to me, it's something I've seen Pixie writing about in our journal about, and talked to her about, a lot over the last year.
