Being disconnected from headspace

Postby Heka » Fri Jun 07, 2019 4:42 pm

Is it normal that, when I'm so stressed or very sad, anxious or Idk, I find myself disconnected from the Inner World? It's like I can't see it or the others and I still can't understand why this happens.

I loose contact with the others and it makes me totally lost, frozen and scared
it usually lasts a few minutes to a few hours

yes, it sounds normal to me. when we are stressed sometimes the dissociative barriers between parts, what separates us, get stronger. It was like this in the first place, one part carrying the difficult emotions and the stress, while others are protected from it.
it kind of sucks, to be so isolated. But it sounds perfectly normal given the circumstances.

Thank you so much for your answers.. Thank you. :)
So, it's because the dissociative barriers are stronger in those moments. And.. Sometimes I also don't recognize who I am, in those moments. I mean, I thought I was Mike until a few moments ago, so I wrote the message signing with his name. But I'm not him.. Is it normal even this? :(

when you are stressed and very emotional you can expect most symptoms to increase. that includes identity confusion.
