Change of routine

Postby Sarandipity » Sun Jun 24, 2018 7:17 pm

My routine has changed greatly.

This change of routine means basically two alters fronting continually for most of the time.

This is not how I usually operate. I believe each part of me has a right to life expression. It fitted into my old routine well. Once my new routine is established and everything is worked out by two fronting alters then space for others will be put into the routine and overall I'll feel happier and content.

At the moment we're all slightly sad and some exhausted due to the need for the constant fronting of just two alters. Sad because it doesn't seem fair and because it is exhausting.

Basically I had one day only this week where any of the others could effectively wake up and some of that was spent crying because of only having one day. It was an up and down day and I don't feel everyone had a chance to have a bit of life.

I don't know if others here feel this way - let everyone have a bit of life, that we're all part of the same person although also seperate and each as valid as the others and all deserve life so to speak. It's how I feel and I'm finding it difficult at the moment because it's impractical to let other parts lead. Once the lay of the land is fully established we'll get back into a pattern that seems fair but at the moment it isn't fair and it's hard.

How do you guys cope with change of routine for your system?

I feel every individual in a system has the right to front if they want to. But, I also believe that there is a time and place to let everyone freely front as they please. Right now is a difficult time, and I think it's good that you are taking what little time you have to let everyone freely front.

Every part has a purpose. Right now, those two main alters seem to be fulfilling their purpose. We feel it's good that those parts are fulfilling their purpose, even though it may be difficult for the other parts.

I'm sure it's hard for those of you in the system of Sarandipity who haven't been getting to front. But, I want to reassure all of you that there will come a time when you will be able to front. You can make it through this difficult time.

I wish I had an answer to your question, though. We haven't had any real change of routine since I started discovering everyone else. Thankfully, I have a lot of time to figure out my system... I hope you all can cope well with this change of routine you're facing, though!

Thank you for your well thought out reply. Still going and getting this new routine to work. Still struggling but managing. Thanks again :)

No worries:3

...After discovering at least a couple dozen more people since I last replied... for our system it's basically impossible to give everybody a chance to front. It's somewhat more possible with just our System Veterans, (although still hard because we got 27 right now), but it's impossible to give everyone in the system a chunk of the day to be out. We have over 50 people who could probably make use of time fronting, over 15 of which have been hosts/co-hosts in the past. So, from experience, sometimes you can't give everyone a chance to front, and that's okay.

My routine change is (fingers crossed) going well. I had to end the romantic relationship I was in for many reasons but one of them being he was disruptive to my routine change. But I am ok and so far (3 weeks in) the big change is ok. In fact I'm very much enjoying it.

Thank you. I'm still thinking 6 weeks, maybe a little longer, to get fully used to it but so far so good.
