Generalizations don't apply to DID

Postby WTFDIDIDO » Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:52 pm

I just read this (on a tv show review lol):

"Kids remember everything. I know I remember everything. Every tragedy, however small, from my childhood is branded on my brain."

I mean this is just the reviewers opinion but it's crazy how he generalizes. I have next to no memory of anything up to age 16 or so and even from 16 onward a lot of events are fuzzy but at least I have some more concreate memories. If i go 10 and under I only recall a handful of events (nothing pleasent) at best. It's like I only started livinng from 16 onward so I have holes both from before and ever since because my memory is seriously imparied.

Also living with DID really sucks but we all know that. Doesnt help pot and booze made my specific condition worse.

Maybe there is safe friend that you made by way of the school teacher. If on the significant end I'd start there in school from where u think the oldest alter age is. Guess what you are at 16 years into adult hood so something is there!

I too cannot remember much until I was... a few years ago, even then my memory is hazy. My mum tells me of the PTSD I had when 3-4 and I don't remember it at all except a fear of airplanes and being confident when I could go outside when one was passing. But that's all I remember - two small incidents.

People shouldn't generalize.

Then you were probably born at the age of 16...
But those alters who were taking care of the body before you, do remeber their parts of life way too well.
