I've also been wondering that I'm probably partly some kind of sociopath. I have 4 diagnoses from several psych ward stays, so if I were a real sociopath someone would have probably noticed? But in the last year I've noticed this cold, calculating, manipulating, lying if needed identity and that's what I am nowadays very often. But since I have barely any social interactions I do all this calculation and manipulation in my head, kind of scheming things that I never bother to do in reality.. When I do internet tests of sociopathy, psychopathy and narcissism I always get results that I'm 90 % all of them. I have BPD diagnosis, but this detached heartless person seems different. And he/she/me is kind of an asshole so no wonder I don't have friends...

This is really interesting scharah... I keep making connections in my mind about these disorders and their possible connection to dissociation.
I have a part that is BorderlinePD. It makes perfect sense to me, because she is "compartmentalized," just like all our other parts. She holds the characteristics that give her this Borderline trait, because the aspects that would "BALANCE" these borderline tendencies are in someone else's "compartment" (like empathy/compassion).

So this makes me wonder if Narcissism, Sociopathy, etc is just the same phenomenon. Just certain "traits" that would have been balanced by other traits, if they hadn't been divided into different compartments.

Does that make sense to anybody else but me?

This is not to say that everyone with a Dx of Narc or Borderline or Psychopathy has DID... but there is such thing as a "Split Personality." Which is basically just one split "part" instead of many. And if that one "part" gets all these very dominant characteristics, of course they would keep the other part (which would hold the balancing aspects) in a very submissive position.

Just a Theory of mine... but I do think it's VERY interesting...
