Hmmmm. I think that the journey between client and therapist is an interesting one. It takes time for a T to get to know you. The quote below indicates that you have much more to reveal. But if you are anything like we are it takes a lot of trust before you can reveal anything. First sessions with a new T are always about trust.

I think everyone has a fragmented memory whether they have DID or another related disassociation disorder or not. So maybe your T is trying to distinguish what is different for you or why you consider your situation different from 'normal' what ever that is. This will only come out over time. If you were hinting at something you can not and should not expect your T to jump to any conclusions. What will be will unfold over time.

I think he is a good therapist and I'm going to go to him. and if I don't mess it up the insurance will pay. In germany, if you quit therapy before it's done you get banned to have any psychotherapy for 2 years.
I have some massive side effects from that one session though. it was like 20 sessions not one.
He said also that I have transgenerational PTSD (yes such thing exists) as I myself don't have that much trauma but my parents have gone through some very very nasty stuff around the time I was born. like being on an unofficial death row, and beyond. Pretty nasty stuff.

That's good that it was positive enough that you have decided to go to him.

Wow, that's really harsh!

What counts as "done" exactly? I feel like that would be a very subjective timeframe

Hopefully it will get easier as you get more used to it.

Doc has to prove you need therapy after 5 sessions (which are free). He then writes a report which will be read by some serious senior Dr.Dr. PhD. Dr. Dr. Prof. Then if the Dr.Dr.Dr.... decides you are sick, he will approve a certain number of sessions. I guess 25 or 50, depends on the type of therapy (CBT vs. Analysis). You have to go to those sessions. And if more sessions is needed, the same thing must be done over and over again. I guess if 50 sessions are approved and you stop going to the doc, the doc will be paid for the full 50 sessions still and you are totally on your own after that. I don't know what happens if you finish one round of 50 sessions and then stop and figure out you need another 50. And I really dont even care. I suppose I will need sessions for the rest of my life as I'm a very sick f***, of which I'm sure I will be totally approved. But I know of someone who went to a tdoc and the tdoc said you are not sick and I can't get your treatment approved. go home. But that's most of the time not the case, particularly not with me. It just wont happen. If it would it would defy common sense / laws of physics /every other law imaginable. As you may see by my writing style, I am in a bad shape. sorry for that.

No, Team 78 was just saying some things aren't ready for as a system the conscious ones. When it all comes together I think the industry fails to realize that it totally boggles the mind....It will totally get better later on. I speak for all systems on certain topics...Just don't allow anyone pdoc to speak with you in a certain matter that you can't handle so it doesn't create an introject. At the same time you can't bring the anger ones front for fear of getting kicked while your down and the instablitiy of finding another therapist. It just all depends on where u are in your journey. ....Thanks for the acknowledgement any way
Dx: DID, PTSD, Panic Disorder
We are system of several.....Blog of system map

Team78 I hope you don't get offended. I'm just concerned as I too have had a hard time understanding the meaning behind your most recent posts. I remember you from 2014 and I see your speech has changed and i'm not sure why, but maybe another alter with different writing style or ability. I think it's important to respect people on here and be cognizant this sort of thing may happen without their awareness. For example with schizophrenia, someone may exhibit word salad and not be aware, or with DID, alters may affect speech.
