And while we're on off-topic threads to keep the forum going and cuz they're fun and there's nothing wrong with laughing and telling stories, I went to a basement show last night! First one, too! And it was AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING. Free beer, great bands, and cool kids. Totally awesome. Anyone else go to an awesome show recently? Or just gigs (As you Brits like to say) in general that you recall from whenever?

Bands use the term gig to describe a show they're playing. "So we played this gig out in Toms River..." that sorta thing. I only know the English use the term gig the way you do is cuz I talk to another English chick some times and thats what she says all the time. But seriously, you see the chance to go to a house show, do it. Wait, don't you play in a band? How have you not been to/played a house show?!

At least you get to play shows. My old band, Twilight of the Inferno Phantoms, would've had a million shows under its belt if my bandmate wasn't a pussy and bailed out every time. Hate that kid with a burning passion. Yet I am still friends with him. Oh well, I was friends with him before we became bandmates. Moral is, he is not worth being in a band with.

I call shows gigs when I play them and gigs shows when I see them...
Eh... scratch and itch / itch a scratch...
What is a house show exactly?
I went to a good organ recital tonight... wow... I am a total NERD!

XD Well Amber, if you weren't such a nerd, and more into underground punk, like me and Harri, you'd know what a house show is. Its exactly what it sounds like, a show in someone's house. Usually the basement (hence the other name, basement show), though sometimes they're in the backyard.

And of course you call the ones you play gigs, and the ones you see shows. You're an American, and I explained in a previous post how thats what we do in the "good ol' US of A" (I hate when hillbillies say that).

I wish I was more into underground punk, but alas I am just a hardcore poser. Always have been. And I just leech onto others knowledge of punk because I am too busy to find it out for myself...
I didn't know it was just an american thing, I figured it was just a musician thing and that it was worldwide...
hmm...

The Netherlands must be boring... start a band, play shows wherever you can.
