Who named your alters?

I named my first alters to be introduced to or I guess they named themselves with their personalities and energies, but eventually there were too many and they just became symbols "The sadist" "The Survior" "The Wolf" "The Baby" "The Mongoose" various dolls, an old man, a robot of some kind which protected and healed me, various ghosts, a black monk who advised my actions and I think an androgynous empath. I remember the first one, a dark angry powerful presence known only as "The Specter" who I referred to as Dezder at the time. After "The Specter" Tabitha (really really mean gothic drug addicted sociopathic bpd emotional sadist) and Verkluntz (Sort of like a giant fat guy wearing a little bowler derby far too small for him and a colorful suit not unlike a Russian circus ringleader. I also had a large amount of other comorbid conditions making my life too crazy to honestly appreciate any strangeness to the whole affair.

yeah names are weird, but i usually find that they're sorta symbolic?
my first alter was literally just called 'brain' because i thought my brain was talking to me

We each named ourselves, I think. Since Jay used to be the main host even though I am the original and a girl, the body is out as transgender, so it was normal to pick a new name, which is when Jay picked Jay. I would be okay with going by our original name, but it'd freak out Jay because he associates it with people not respecting his gender so I renamed myself after a character I relate to, and I like the name Bethany better than the one I had before anyways.

Phoenix is an introject of a character so his name was always pretty obvious. Faustino, I know, surprised Jay because they were the first one he realized was their own person, back before we understood DID, and when Jay asked "Hey, what's your name?" They immediately answered Faustino and Jay hadn't even heard of that name before. So the only one of us who I'm not sure if they named themselves is Lexi, because she's a fragment and almost never fronts so we don't really have any communication with her.

So, basically, I'd try and see if they already have names, and if they don't, let them come up with ones they like : )
