Yeah, I hate when things get too serious, and will go off rambling about who knows what, which secretly is my way of throwing people off the serious train.

If you read similar threads where posters advertise studies or documentary projects, you will see that I post similar warnings. Most of those previous postings however, included websites from Universities or from legitimate Production Companies. The fact that you linked to a personal page was therefore a bit surprising.

As for you mentioning the project on your myspace page, I reviewed the page and could find no reference to this specific project. All I found was this:

Writing, Movies, BDSM, My lovely lady, and producing independent video documentaries (none to date)

As you have said, this audience has been harmed enough and I was simply posting a notice for them to be aware of the situation and to make sure they protect themselves.

I didn't make that statement on the open forums, however. For the benefit of the DID forum users and in response to kev1983's statement about being discredited, I think it was something this forum needed to hear.

Those who live with D.I.D. have suffered enough, do you really think im that cruel of a person that i would be out to hurt someone!

Well, we don't know you, so yes I think it's possible that people would seek to harm those who have already been victimized... "bad guys" often do that. So, until we know more about you, we have to err on the side of caution to help our users protect themselves. It would be helpful if you were doing this documentary as part of a sponsored study or a university research team. That way, we could verify with your employer or via the research grant that this project is legitimate. If you have either information, please feel free to share it with us and the entire discussion will be dropped. We just have to be mindful of our users' safety, and the myspace page you have included with your profile very well could be triggering and upsetting to people with DID.

If you know anything about DID, and I assume you do based on what you've already posted, you know that this disorder can make someone very vulnerable to triggers. I am certain if you care as much about the users with this unique disorder as you have stated, you agree with my opinion that much care should be used NOT to further hurt them, even inadvertently.

You know, I didn't realize that introducing myself would somehow start some kind of drama. And I don't really understand what someone is doing in here if they or someone they're close to doesn't deal with DID. I even emailed Kev before I checked out the MySpace and am now very wary. I appreciate the warnings and the link very much. But I apologize if my presence somehow caused this drama. I feel somehow to blame.

Twilight, you didn't start anything at all. Every once in a while, people make posts here for documentaries and such (some legit, some I don't know)... just like on many other internet sites. It has nothing to do with you at all. Just use your best judgment when talking to ANYONE on the internet, including here.
