Walker, the 5-year-old in my system (and only boy) tells me one day OUT OF NOWHERE (and in public, so that I end up laughing all by my lonesome in the middle of Target), "I don't know if I'M a lesbian, but if I am, I guess that's a pretty cool ass thing to be. Oh $#%^, I said 'ass'. 'Scuze me." If I'd had a chair to fall out of, I would have.
"A man goes far to find out what he is--
Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.
Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?"
