We Have Returned

Postby CalligraphyJack » Tue Jan 06, 2015 5:58 pm

Hello, everybody. We have not been on here in quite a while. Things have not changed very much for us concerning our situation. Although, after our last therapy session, Cade has become much more anxious and nervous. Life is still complicated, which is absolutely no surprise. Our therapist is also moving to another clinic, so we have the choice of continuing to meet her, but at the new location, or meeting with somebody else at the same location. On a similar note, it is not certain whether or not we actually [i]need[i] therapy. We have gotten through life on our own for many years, now, and have learned to work together in body and mind. However, it is rather nice to speak to someone about our condition. Although, Cade has been the one speaking (since he has the most normal voice), with one single sentence once from Donald. Cade is afraid. He fears being told that our condition is not real. We try to comfort and reassure him, but there's only so much we can do. I worry for him. If only he would let us speak to her. He does not prevent us from doing so to be selfish, but because of his fear.

Wanted to say hi! Also sorry to hear that Cade is having anxiety. (or more than normal anxiety) Totally understand being afraid that you'll be told what you're dealing with isn't real. Been labeled a faker many times in my life, and it's really difficult to get past.

I guess we don't actually need therapy either because overall we cope pretty well and now that we've got some meds it helps, but like you said it helps to have somewhere to talk. I can't really vent to other people, feel like I'm bugging them, but it's different in therapy and our therapist is very kind and validating of the work we do on our own.

We welcome you back.

We're sorry that Cade is having trouble with anxiety.

Isn't life always complicated. It's probably hard living as a multiple.

Oh, shush. Sometimes you don't know if you need therapy or not until you either start or stop it. Then you can tell if you need it or not. Starr did that. For us, because we have so many other issues to deal with, it was hard not having therapy for about a year. We have a lovely therapist now, who sadly doesn't believe that we are real alters from a multiple system.

We do not have enough colors for everyone that wants to say something to you. This means not everyone that wants to say something can speak. It is understandable that Cade would be fearful for the rest of you to talk to your therapist. The therapist we have does not know when someone else is out. Most of us have similar voices to the Host. We have learned to work together in this body by ourself, so it is not that strange to have it done by oneself instead of having others help. It is also sad that your therapist is moving to a new clinic. Depending on how far away it is could be a deciding factor to consider. I hope that your choice and rest of your day or night goes smoothly

Hi ! Welcome back.

Whether or not you choose to continue with therapy, the important part is that your wellbeing comes first. I stopped going to the therapist weekly a few months ago because I thought there had been no progress of value in the last two years of therapy, but I wonder if I made a correct decision. Since nothing significant has happened since then as far as I can tell, I guess it really didn't change things much.
