The Host Doesn't know...

Postby danestoukole » Tue Sep 16, 2014 5:12 pm

My name is Dane. I am more or less the "manager" if you will. I run the systems internally. The host, I'll just call him Jay, has yet to learn about his disorder and alters. We don't believe it is a great idea to tell him or the alters that don't know either. I'd like to inquiry some advice on how i should lightly handle this situation. One of his close friends found out and I don't know what to do becuase they think he should know... :? :!: :| :?:

Well, you're going to have to tell him eventually, aren't you? At least you have a third party in the know. I would definitely use this friend in approaching the situation. Perhaps between the both of you, y'all can let Jay know what's up. Just make sure you're in a non threatening environment, chill mood, maybe crack a joke toward the middle there. Break it light, keep it light, then if he's not picking up what you're putting down, get seriously kind and supportive and just be there for him.
Well, it's not easy, and some days are very hard, but it is what it is. I'm just trying to make it better.

Welcome to the forums! I agree with the others, why is it that you feel that this isn't the right time?

Though I do not know your reasoning behind saying the host shouldn't know, I believe it is essential that you tell him and the alters. When we found out about being multiple, it was a struggle (naturally) but it was also some kind of a relieve. It explained a lot and brought a lot of peace and happiness. I'm not saying it'll all be light, easy and happy. Au contraire. But I really believe you should tell them, because they have the right to know.
