Is it possible to basically know I have DID when I can't think of any real causes of it? Im clueless as to the origin of my DID.

It is often not clear-cut when it comes to the origin. There is a cookie-cutter theory (childhood abuse before the age of 8 or something), but it is not that simple in the reality. Also, abuse and stress is very subjective. And many people with dissociation are either having amnesia, repressing their memories or refusing to admit or accept their past.
It is not the origin that defines a condition; it is the symptoms you experience that define it.
Do you have any suggestions, theories or guesses for the cause in your case? How did you find out or suspect that you have DID, and what do you experience?

I have always had this higher imagination and imaginary friends when I was younger. I thither for a while it was schizophrenia because of the subtle voices and delusions that I had powers or something. I get headaches almost every day. It's aggrivating and they play off of that head pain. I was bullied for a while in school and I guess it came in part from there. I had a girlfriend at the time I first thought I had DID. Thing is... I didn't know her. I found out that one of my alters was dating a girl past my knowledge. Then a week later a different alter revealed that they were dating a guy without my knowledge.

The heavy amnesia - or mental barriers that prevent you from being aware of your entire life - seems like dissociation. It's scary and shocking if it happens like that.
