Our littles always like to just be treated as real kids. So I guess taking small steps is the best thing to do, don't make him feel like he is being forced or pressured.

Amber (10 years old, but very mature for her age) always loves it if people do what she does or help her once she asks, she is a very social kid though, we haven't met anyone who doesn't like her. So that would be a bit different in your situation I guess.

Maybe make his favorite food if he's out for a longer time? So he'll relax a bit with you

Thank you for your insights all. For some reason my posts are often duplicated usually within the same one though. Maybe it's because I access this on my phone.

Thank you,
J

Thank you do much for all the information. I was able to talk to him again. He liked the birthday card so it looks like that was a good idea. He told me that we could be friends and that I was pretty, but girls have coodies. It was cute. I asked him if he was aware when the others were in control and he said yes. I asked because I wanted to send him some comic books just for him, in case someone else was reading it I wanted to make sure he'd get help reading of needed. My SO found a written note that said "I love J...(My name)" that was most definitely from Tommy. It was sweet. I'm glad he approves and that I can make him feel loved. It reminds me of my little 6 year old girl. Her favorite thing to write is I love you.

I can't begin to explain how much this makes me happy. I love my men and my little guy so much. :D

That is such an amazing amazing turn of events! We smiled all the way through reading it all.
You have both made such a leap in bonding and he is being so sweet. I think that card was the best thing you could have ever done.

I just wrote a load out and had to erase it.we have had or own turn of events and have an alter called Eko who never used to talk.he was a big scary man, he is now a small child. Apparently it is common for the most scared children to disguise them self as the scarcest alter.any how. I just heard him whisper-hence all the confusion and deleting. He said get him transformers.

I have no idea if they still make them? My little Eko has been in...stasis so thinks it's still the 80's but he makes a good idea! They made all the new films, didn't they? All those auto bots, saving the world? Positive use of those two topics he likes but are worrying to explore.

We really are so sooo pleased for you all, Tommy must feel a little less lonely now and he had love in his heart :-) bless him! Yay for you all!

Lifelong...
Thank you for doing that. I don't know why my posts when I'm using my phone get duplicated and didn't know how to fix it.

Riverside...
Let Eko know that is a great idea. Tommy likes the A-team, but that's from back when they were all 6/7, so getting something like transformers which you can find now, but was also back then would be perfect. With them being in the prison, the only thing I can send is books, and they have to be new. So A-Team is definitely not a possibility.

The scariest alters in his system are still super aggressive and scary to everyone else, but they are the biggest, lovey dovey sweethearts with me now. Tommy specifically mentioned one of the protectors as the reason why he's protected now and Jc and I are very very much in love, so I'm sure that helped Tommy feel safe opening up to me too.

There is so much love between me and his system. I'm surprised that Tommy came around after such a short time, but I knew he would eventually. I can't wait to meet the other 2 who are hiding. I have a lot more love to give.

I didn't know anything about D.I.D. until my honey told me he had it in Sept. I wouldn't change him for the world. I love all his alters, and couldn't imagine my life better any other way. (Besides him getting out of prison of course :D )

Thank you so much!

Littles are awesome, and sometimes confusing

Next time you see him, try bringing him some legos to play with, this might encourage him to trust you more.

Last year, we found we had a little, a little dear named Andrew and he didn't trust us at first, but eventually warmed up to us.You just have to engage in the things he likes to do, and he'll gradually feel more comfortable with you.

Sorry if I couldn't really help much.
Have a nice day ^^

Jason

Thank you for the input. I've talked to Tommy 3 times on the phone now. He's decided that he likes me. They are in prison so the only communication right now is over the phone. It's kinda funny though when I actually get to talk to some of the others they come in the same order. Jc, Ty, then Tommy.

I'm hoping we will get our visits back soon. They have kids games we could play, which might be fun for Tommy. Especially with my 6 year old daughter.

Thanks again,
J
