Treatment for DID?

Postby RedShadow » Tue Nov 26, 2013 3:16 pm

I've heard that you get a T, that seems ok for me. I'm not diagnosed yet, but even so.. will they make me go to a mental illness related hospital? We saw so many posts here about people staying at the hospital for one month to be diagnosed, is that true? It scared the @#$% out of me. I think that I would go crazy .. I'm really scared, can anyone help me?

No, they won't put you in a hospital to diagnose you or because you are diagnosed with DID. Please don't worry about that.

Some of us go into hospital to keep us safe because we are suicidal, or to allow us to do a special course of intense treatment that is not available outside a hospital.

You just made my day. :D As a fact, do they give you meds? I've heard that some of them make your psychical condition worse, I'm also afraid of that. My doctor made fun of me saying that I will get into "the white rooms for mad people" and that scared me a lot. I also have problems with the panic attacks, so it was pretty difficult to deal with what she said.

DID is not treated with medications. Some persons with DID have other conditions in addition to DID, and medications may be prescribed for those other conditions.

I have never been prescribed any medications for mental health.

I would be scared too! Your doctor who scares you with these stories sounds very unhealthy and not very good at her job either. Please find another doctor!

Heheh.. yeah, I guess. I'm going to another doctor anyway, but she scared me for real. She even made my alters be afraid of going out, if you can believe that
