(Fun) You know you're the SO of someone with DID when...

Postby Dom the Singleton » Mon Aug 19, 2013 11:41 pm

I thought I'd make a separate "You know you're DID when..." for the Significant Others of the forum, just to keep things organized :D

....when you finish a super scary, gory movie (Inglourious Basterds, 28 Days Later), and immediately switch to watching My little pony or one of the straight to DVD tinkerbell movies.

...when you have 2 fiances, 6 girlfriends, and possibly 1 boyfriend, and it's not weird.

...when you go from hugging and kissing your Fiancee/girlfriend one minute, to backing off for fear of getting your teeth punched in the next.

One I see in you, Dom..
..his patience has had to expand to accommodate for our really "switchy" days or days we dissociate a lot when I have to keep rereading something or asking him to repeat what he's said, or what we've just said to him..

Ah this guy. What he does for me. :)

Or..
..he is simultaneously worried for me, intimidated by me, lovey toward me, wanting to help me with pouring chocolate milk, etc.

..he is my fiance, my big guy, my drinking buddy, my big brother, my boyfriend, but also the future father of my children (MY children, not OUR children?), technology help, the teacher of "how to be a man", oh please don't embarrass me, MY human (Myuu), my plaything (Lily).
Elyse (20), Ophelia (21), Ellie (4), Candy (13), Mae (23), Nevan (25), Marjorie (14), Georgia (27), Adam (23), Damon Black (24), Clara (25), Lily (17-25), Sammy (21), Alice (8); The Others are trying to get their lives straightened out.
Friendly hugs and ToE are fiiiiine ;3

When your having a great conversation with your girlfriend (you think) and you say "I want to kiss you!" and she replies "I'm 7!" Embarrassing! :)

Thats almost happened to me many times. thankfully, i notice the switch right before it happens :P

similarly, once when my fiance was out, she came to sit on my lap. we were getting "snuggly" and then her protector alter (who is NOT in a relationship with me) came out and immediate said "Why the **** am i sitting on your lap" and jumped off

My boyfriend once came up behind us, hugged us and said, "I love you." Another alter was out and she just said, "I'm not her." He awkwardly backed off and apologized.

Another time, we switched suddenly and he missed it, and when he said "I love you!" the alter just laughed at him. Thank goodness we don't have problems like this anymore! He's gotten better at detecting switches.
