I have not been diagnosed with this disorder.. but I have questions..
Have any of you experienced this before?
I was asleep and have vague memory of acting out on someone in a rage.. Apparently i was asleep and this person woke me up and I just went off on them.. When I try to remember, I can recall vaguely watching myself with horror as if I were at the end of a tunnel watching myself do this horrendous thing to this person.. and apparently I just went back to sleep.. I was wondering.. do I have a sleep disorder? However I have other characteristics of DID.. just lost right now..

Yes, multiple times I have been aware of watching myself from a distance. I dont know much about sleep disorders, and I dont know if there's enough information there to say if it's DID, but it sounds like it could be. I don't really know either way, it's just a possibility. And no one here can diagnose you with either, only offer suggestions.

That must ve been a scary experience, not bein able to control what you re doin, only able to watch from a distance.
I know that feeling, watchin myself talkin to someone I know and hearin myself say: who are you? Did we meet?
Things like that.
I don t know enough about sleep disorders. I do know that, when asleep, people can do things like walk or eat without realising, but usely they don t see themselves doin it from a distance (that s just what I know, I m no professional so I could be wrong here)
There s no harm in keepin a journal to see if this occurs again, and if it does, you can bring it to a professional and discuss his or her thoughts?
Write donw things you think may have triggered the event too.
Best of luck!

The scary thing about it is that I had no memory of this event.. and when I tried really really hard to remember that is when I remember watching myself. I am wondering if you can be more susceptible to a change occurring in alters in being in control when you are awakened abruptly or intoxicated. I need to read more about this now, I'm intrigued.
