Binaural Beats *trigger warning?*

Postby Kinkamina » Wed May 01, 2013 4:32 pm

Recently, I've been doing a lot of research on binaural beats, as a possible inner explorative.

I'm case you don't know, Binaural beats are simple wavelength tones that can induce a variety of effects; from fear, anger, bliss, sleep, lucid dreams, concentration, focus, even replicated drug highs.

I was wondering if anyone had additional info on the topic, or any questions regarding its uses.

I am conducting many tests and will provide results, if anyone is interested.

Status update (X3):

After a little research, I found several wavelengths named after the Greek alphabet.
Ex: binaural alpha waves, beta waves, theta waves, etc.

Hmm...

Apparently It has been used for the recovery of repressed memories.

Binaural beats are amazing to use during meditations, but like any inner exploration, sometimes you can stumble across stuff or unlock things you may not always want unlocked. Birch and I in particular do a lot of work with meditation and some other workings that are similar. I'm looking forward to see your results and see if there are any correlations with ours.

Thank you. ^w^

Keep in mind I plan on doing test of many different types of binaural beats.
I would also like to remind everyone that this isn't a perfect science. The effects of Binaural beats vary with people. This isn't a definite answer to any problems, but it might help with things.

I also encourage people to ask questions about binaural beats, to which I will answer to the best of my ability. :3

Did a test of delta waves.

Got plenty of sleep.... But....
No dreams.... And I still feel exhausted.

More updates later.

Awesome! I'm glad someone else is interested in binaural beats. I've tried listening to theta binaural beats to induce sleep (didn't fall asleep, but it was kinda cool and a bit trippy). I'm a very good dreamer and lucid dreamer. (that's a stupid-sounding sentence... what I mean to say is that I have many vivid dreams every night and very good dream recall, I also lucid dream quite frequently, and am trying to cultivate that skill. I am testing different techniques to induce lucid dreaming.)
I'm interested in the other aspects and effects of binaural beats. In therapy, I'm asked to recall a certain kinda bad experience in my life, but there's so much fog around it, I only get flashes of it. I wonder if binaural beats could help me sort out this memory.
My point is: I'm interested. Sign me up for the mailing list.

(Ok, yeah, this isn't my forum, but whatever. I like this place. Friendly, supportive atmosphere. )

To be honest, I never even heard about binaural beats until I stumbled on one in a stereo graph of the original lavender town theme. It was meant to induce fear, but..... It didn't work on me. I'm going to be testing the whole spectrum of sine waves. So far, I've had a negative reaction to delta waves, which gave me a deep sleep, but with no REM. So basically it sucked. A lot. :(

My current experiment with a theta lucid dream wave was ineffective. I had a vague dream, (which isn't anything new to me. I usually forget my dreams, or dream nothing but darkness.)

What I'm going to be doing is spacing a day between testing these waves, to recover from their effects.

Hey guys.
Long time, no... Uh.... Status update.
Heh heh. ^w^

My studies have been put aside due to school for the moment, but I can make a small report if my current findings. With my school year coming to a close, (which means the iPad I write to you all with will be gone :( ) I regret to say I will not be on that much. But please, do not let that discourage you. I will make great lengths to stay in frequent touch with you all.

My current findings are this: after prolonged exposure to alpha waves, keeping me in a insomnia for about a week, I find the day testing to be very effective. Alpha waves increase your awareness, ability to maintain focus, and some frequencies can improve memory. Night testing proves to be just as effective. It maintains brain function, but it seems to have a cost of hallucinations if prolonged use occurs.

This observation will lead to my next step of testing: prolonged and scheduled listening of these beats.
I wish to observe the effects of prolonged exposure to the other wavelengths. Of course, I will be keeping the rest period between the studies.

Questions or comments would greatly be appreciated. ^w^
