My T told me yesterday that she's giving up her practice and moving away.
This is the first T with whom I've managed to establish a positive bond and get meaningful work done. This is a week after my teen finally decided she trusted the T enough to tell her about a hugely traumatic event.
The T says we'll still have time to say good-bye and that's she not leaving today or tomorrow, but we're scared. What if we can't find another T? What if they're all like the rest and don't believe in DID? What if things get really bad again like they were when we started therapy?
She said she was going to help us, but she's leaving.
The teen feels like it's because she did something bad (even though I've said it's not).
We feel so betrayed.
We're not invited.

Thanks, lifelongthing. We appreciate your support. We might call the T today and ask her to call back and explain to the teen that it's not her fault the T is moving.
We're not invited.

That sounds like a very good idea

She deserves to hear it from the T herself, I think.

I'm really sorry this is happening.
I hope she can indeed explain to the teen that it's not her fault.
I hope your t can help you find another good t.

I'm so sorry. I couldn't imagine going through that. Know we're here for you and I'm certain you'll find another good therapist. *safe hugs if wanted*

Yes I hope your current therapist will be able to find a new therapist with you. Could she maybe promise to help find a new one? Or maybe ask about any specifics about when she is going to stop? (I know this is an issue for me, I like precise dates/times). Maybe ask her whether you can call her if needed as long as you haven't found a new therapist?
Good luck with this! I wish you much strength the coming time.
Dx:
PDD-NOS. Tested for dissociative disorders and
PTSD but they say the symptoms are attributable to PDD-NOS.
