That is really cool! I never thought twitching could be important, but it sounds like for some of us it is important (or could be) and not just a simple symptom. I think it'll be interesting to see if I can find any patterns on the spontaneous twitches. Like, usually when I get on the forum my legs will start twitching like crazy. Now, to figure out exactly what the significance of that is, if there is any.

Is going into a trance a sign of switching for you? I get into those trance states a lot. Especially when I'm stressed out, upset, or tired. I'm in a sort of light trance this morning, but still able to type obviously...but I am feeling just fine today as far as I know. When I get this light trance thing in the mornings it's usually a sign they'll be heavy for the day and hard to come out of. I'm just not sure if theres any point to it I need to be aware of.

A DID therapist once took me through "tapping". Which is basically laying your hand out flat, asking an alter yes and no questions one tap means yes, two taps mean no.

That's cool! I'll have to try it that way and see how it works! I did ask them to make my fingers twitch so my husband can see. It took a few minutes, but they did twitch! Did the tapping work well for you?

It did, but I've never done it alone. I'm too scared. I just did it with a therapist. I guess because then it makes the DID more real. It was funny though, we had stopped the tapping I put my hand down and laid them in my lap. At the end of my session my therapist said I continued to tap while my hands were in my lap.

That's awesome! I'm glad this works for others! It seems like it's easier for them to twitch my legs and arms than anything else, but I get it a lot in my toes too! Feels so funny! It feels a little different than the usual twitch. It has a slight tingle to it, and almost like a light electrical shock feeling.

I've been noticing that my feet/toes start getting this slight tingle feeling before it starts. Kinda like maybe they're getting ready or something. Last night me and my husband were talking about DID and I was telling him about how my feet/toes were starting that tingling sensation, and I told him I think that means they're getting ready to start twitching me. Then my toe twitched kinda like a confirmation lol.

Does it have a different sensation for you too compared to the usual twitch?

the only difference I guess would be that I couldn't feel anything I get vibes, energy, images, thoughts and warning from the others that come out or want to talk. so it was odd. but it was probaly because I wanted to make a connection to whoever was listening.

This is awesome. I just sort-of started a conversation by twitching my jaw. May sound strange, but it did work.

At first, I tried whether I could see me switch in a mirror. Unfortunately, switching didn't work at the moment. But I did notice my mouth etc. started moving in strange ways. And one time, 'I' said very soft 'silent' when I asked to say something. So I guess whoever it was was sort-of (partially?) mute (or just hasn't figured out how to speak). But I could ask yes/no questions inside my head and whoever it was answered by either twitching (yes) or not (no). I/we should try tapping one time.

So I guess I/we have found out how to do this. This is awesome. I had conversations before, but they were always very unreliable (with random sentences inserted, multiple parts speaking at the same time etc.)

I didn't really have any strange feelings apart from excitement that it did work and that the twitching came unexpected - which is expected.

That's awesome this worked for you too! I've been crazy twitchy since I first tried this....I kinda feel like they're using it as an interject while I'm talking to agree or disagree with something that I'm talking about, or reading online. Sometimes I'll read something on here and think, "I wonder if I do that?", and I'll feel a twitch. So, it seems like I sometimes still get answers to my questions, even if I'm not exactly directing it at them.

Before I'd get the occasional twitch/muscle spasm, but these feel completely different...well, same, but different lol. I didn't notice the sensations until I had tried it a couple times. I knew it had felt different I just wasn't aware of how it felt different the first couple times. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything. Not that I doubted their existence, I was just skeptical that they would have the ability to do that. I can't do that, so I didn't think they could either. They sure showed me lol.
