Pictures of your alters?

Okay I don't know if this is allowed or not, but I figured it was worth asking.

Is it okay to post drawings of your alters?

The link leads me to a page that says "Forbidden", so I'm not sure what kind of picture it is, but I think that hand-drawn pictures, or pictures found online that look very similar to what the alters look like, are your best bet. I think it's ok to post real pictures, as in, taken of the actual body/face while the alter is out or something, but that depends on your own personal comfortability with sharing stuff like that. If you're comfortable with it, then I see nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn't have things like names or personal info somewhere on there or anything like that.

Many of us have picked out pictures found online of what we look like, or the closest resemblance to what we look like. I'll have to ask the others if they'd like to post them here.

This is a good question. I've wondered the same kind of thing. I agree with The Hawk, that as long as anyone is comfortable with posting them, and the pictures don't contain personal information or names, it seems like it is fine.

I'll post. ^^ Recently LElly has gone searching the internet for pictures that look like us. She didn't get one for me, because I share the appearance of the body and everyone irl knows what I look like. And she couldn't find one that looked like Jen. But she gathered pictures of her, Teen, and the mute.

Teen: Green eyes, we argue over the exact shade of her hair, but fairly accurate.


mute: I've personally never seen nem, as ne never comes into the layer that me and Jen live on, and I can't access the layer that they live on. But according to LEll, the hair should be black and almost down to nir sholders, but it looks kinda like that. The rest is decent. She had a really hard time finding a picture that looked even remotely like nem.


And thus, you have our system. ^^ Well, most of it. I'm not in here, and Jen is too picky to show off anything LEll tried to find, so this is what we have.

We've found a few pictures on the internet that look like eachother.
Also note, aside from my own img, all the others are not owned by me, nor do I claim that I own the imgs.

I don't know the rules about actual pictures of your own person, but we made this thread a while back and many answered to it and we were never told anything was wrong with it - so I assume it's fine

(the difference between cassie and the picture is that her features can be just a tiny bit “younger”. otherwise it’s almost exactly like her.)

It's been impossible to find a picture of emma though. Many of the others haven't searched too much for pictures of themselves but emma has and has come up with two photos that "kinda resemble if you mush them together". She has ethnic features - but not just from one ethnicity, and it's hard to find the right image. We've considered having someone draw/photoshop what she's like because it bothers her *a lot* that her SO and others can't see what she looks like. Few things bother her like that so we're looking into it

We don't have everyone yet, but we keep finding more

I posted a thread a while ago with drawings of my alters. I have taken most of the pictures down off my tumblr though. I began to get paranoid but I left one drawing up.

Regarding the rules in relation to pics...

You can't post photos of your actual self. This is against the rules as it doesn't protect your anonymity in real life.
That's this part of the rules:

Sharing private informations, about you or any other person, that makes you or anybody else recognizable is not permitted on the forums and will be removed immediately if brought to our attention.

Photos of other people that look like your alters should be ok, provided that they are not people you actually know in real life and that you make sure that you note that you don't own the work and that it's clear that they aren't actually you.

In relation to pictures that are drawn, they need to follow these rules:

No nudity or sexually explicit images
No depiction of violence
No threatening images
No images displaying personal features
Avatars depicting Death, Blood, Gore, Vulgar language or Images, Weapons of any kind or that have Sexually Suggestive undertones are not appropriate for this site.

The "no images displaying personal features" is stuff that's identifying like, don't draw a tattoo you have for example...

Thanks for sharing your cool pics everyone. It's cool to see how each of you are resembled.

Don't overstress about all those rules too much. So long as you are all posting pretty normally, generally everything falls in the rules pretty well. If I spot that you guys have accidentally made a mistake, I will edit.
