Hello
Im currently taking Lexapro for a few weeks now (previously taken it twice). It is working well.
Any one else taking it?
What are you taking whats working for you?
(I know every medication is different just asking about the positives)

I have had like a medium bad depression ever since I can really remember. It wasn't until after the death of a family member at 20 when I actually got help. I was on Lexapro then for roughly 6 months before weening myself off without my dr. The next time came a year or so later and once again on it. I kept cycleing convinced I only needed it until my life was stable and that I didn't need a pill to be happy.
This last time however I let my pride and lack of health insurance get in the way until I was scaring myself. I had gotten to the point that I like to describe as drowning in the ocean. As I get deeper in the depression I stop fighting the water and slowly sinking as I go toward the dark depths and away from the light. Generally as I get to the sinking phase I get help. This time I could barely see the light and really wasn't sure I could come back.
So my physican and I decided that the best thing for me to do is to not go off until I feel like having children. Only the cost of Lexapro with no insurance was horrible ($110 a month). So he refered me to the older version celexa as a generic citalopram. As a generic I can get three months for $10 yay. But aside from the cost issue I FEEL better on it.
On Lexapro my libido would be rocky. Now on this it's steady if not somewhat stunted (it was very high to begin with so no real probs for me lol). Some days on Lexapro I would feel kind of zombie ish not so with my citalopram. And lastly as we all no we can still have the occasional blues, but with this med for me at least they are fewer and far between after about 6 months in on it. In short I love it and think that for me it works BETTER than Lexapro did. Just an opinion of mine about me however. Not sure if that helps but if you ever need to worry about the cost you might want to try it.

Ive tried almost every ad out there. Some havent worked. A lot have worked for a while and then stopped. Ive taken them in all sorts of compinations. Lexapro worked great for 6 weeks and then stopped so I had to keep upping the dose till i hit the limit. Nothing has really worked well for me long term outside of my antianxiety meds and amytriptiline.....which i was banned from taking because my doc was sure id get impulsive and od on it.
Self awareness doesn't reveal my indiscretions, exhaustion does.
