Diary. Emphsis feelings/ thought's relation to daily MED's'

Postby Shanthi » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:15 am

Regime...AM 1xfluoxetine-GA 20mg THIS IS AUSTRALIAN TIME...
PM 2x50mg Quetiapine
2x 10mg Temazepam (when needed)

Woke this morning feeling really groggy, this may have been due to the reason I was unable to get to sleep last night, so I took 2x Temazapam, which kicked in about an hour after I took them.
Felt groggy all morning.
Day one of taking fluoxetine, an SSRI antidepressant.
Speech slurred. (New experience)
Heavy limbs.
No emotional or otherwise feelings whatsoever.(New experience)
Feel like a zombie.
Unable to concentrate for more than 20 min's.

These experiences abated somewhat this afternoon, around 5pm.
Also note that I felt somewhat aggressive towards nothing and no one in particular (new experience).
Had thought's of methods of good way's to suicide, but unable to think them through.
Found no pleasure in anything I did.
Aware that it's only day 1 of new AM med, also aware that I need to allow time for them to settle and or benefit me.
NO MOOD SWINGS, (no mood).
To be continued...

wow. this is a VERY interesting cocktail. prozac, seroquel & a sleeping aid.

seroquel killed any kind of emotion i could muster up. i was a zombie. slurred speech, heavy limbs, disoriented, unable to concentrate...all of that. had to get off of ASAP as i needed to function in life.

prozac...never got on but i can't do ssri meds, i can only do snri meds. it took me a while and a lot of trial and error to figure that out but it was worth being a guinea pig because now i feel like a normal person (as long as i don't run out!)

i'm not familiar with the sleeping med, but i've def had bouts on insomnia to which i was prescribed lunesta for. it helps to turn my mind off which is usually why i can't sleep.

how are you doing now that you've been on them a few weeks? i hope BETTER, if not, time to race back to the dr.

Dx: PDNOS, ADHD, MDD, ED (recovering)

i'm in your threadz, moddin' your postsImage

It's been awhile since I posted, you could say I've been busy getting better, and 'better' I feel, the combination of med's I'm on now are working a treat. Through trial and error we (my carer's and I) have hit the mark, thus far so good.

Of course It's early days yet but I'm hopeful . Even having a feeling of hope is something I never thought I'd experience again. I'm pleased to say that many of the emotions/feelings/attributes/qualities that were robbed from me by this illness are starting to return, things that before I'd taken for granted.

I would like to state here that I'm overwhelmingly grateful to my carer's, that is my DOCTOR (GP) , my PSYCHOLOGIST, my PSYCHIATRIST, and my friend Ruth without you all, well..., I am and always will be thankful. Also to this forum which has been of tremendous help and support for me I thank you.

Stay Safe.
