business grants and funding

Postby chopperlamb » Tue Jul 16, 2013 4:48 pm

hope this is in the right place
hi all. a brief background.
i'm Justin i'm 42 and ive been suffering form depression and anxiety for a few years now with no prospect of getting work due to anger and trust issues with employers.

ive come along way with my treatment and have realised the only way forward for me is to start a business in something I know a bit about and was the only time ive really been happy in my life.

The business that I want to start involves taking small childrens rides to markets and shopping centres and going back to the old school roots of how fairgrounds started.

I know that there is a good living to be earned from this with a single ride earning as much as £400 an hour. I also have contacts in the business that could help me with venues for equipment.

So I guess my question really is are there any funding options for someone like me who is currently undergoing treatment but is desperate to run my own amusement hire business.

I already own a childrens train ride but unfortunately I need funds to get this repaired and tested. would also need funds for another piece of amusement equipment and a generator to run the equipment.

I think I could start with as little as £10000 for equipment insurance and advertising.

all help would be greatly received as to limit the amount of knock backs which are not good for my mental health.

Hi Justin,

I hope your idea works out!

The best place to find out about business grants would be a government office or self-employment training centre. I'm not sure what they'd be called where you are, but they'd likely be able to point you in the right direction and let you know what kind of grants are available.

Best of luck!
Blame it on me, but know that I won't regret one iota.
