Sleeping

Postby LessThanZero » Fri Dec 07, 2012 12:02 am

Anyone else having a day where they're just laying in bed most of the day today?
I can't seem to stay up and can't seem to sleep so along wtih depression, I guess there's some
anxiety. I want to just sleep the days away. I'm only on this planet to care for my special needs cats; they've got a ways to go (2 of them, one is 17 and the other's illness is starting to take over and attacking her kidneys, dang it).

I'm bored, depressed and....................... OH! And, I saw my doc 2 days ago and I asked him if there were any other things he thought I had and he had a note of possible Bipolar Disorder. I was already misdiagnosed with this once. How can you have Bipolar if you don't have a manic stage?

I'm tired and weak.

You can post this on the bipolar forum as well to see what others diagnosed with bipolar can help you with. As far as I know, you don't need a full-blown manic episode to be diagnosed as bipolar.

Yes, I often feel like staying in bed all day. If it were an option right now that's just what I'd do.
Blame it on me, but know that I won't regret one iota.

depression/topic101136-10.html

With the help of post above, I have concluded that getting more than 10 hrs of sleep during normal weekday will make me MORE tired and prone to depression. Getting 8, 9, or 10 is good and I am normal and don't feel that tired. I understand why more than normal sleep is bad now. But I know it is very hard to maintain normal sleep when you feel tired and have nothing to do. Medicine defintely have side effect of wanting to sleep and eat more - and I am glad I am off of them now for that reason. I am trying to combat my depression and be med-free for pregnancy and beyond but it is tough. If I get off track, I take a depression pill on occassion which seems to have helped a little.

Sleeping more than needed is like a viscous cycle, bc the more you sleep, the more you want to sleep. Try watching interesting netflix long-running tv shows like breaking bad, revenge, monk, etc that keep you going.

i found if i sleep more than necessary sleep, i am just not getting good sleep; dreaming more. So i figured now it is better to watch addicting tv show like revenge than get excessive sleep. Find something more valuable than sleep to do.

I keep sleeping 12+ hours a day. Whenever I'm bored/restless I just go to sleep, and when I wake up I figure there's nothing I want to wake up for so I go back to sleep. I'd like to try sleeping for less than 10 hours, trouble is I don't know how to time myself... I should get an alarm clock I guess... but I'm not sure I'd stick to it because as I said, why bother getting up...? Sometimes, even when I have something I have to do, I go back to sleep because the thought of human interaction is too much for me. :\ I also love and treasure my dreams, it's a great escape and while dreaming, I feel like I'm living.

Wow you guys, your experiences sound exactly like mine! Especially the last one... "Why bother getting up . . ." I'm always afraid I'll nap too long and not sleep, but I nap long and sleep long. If it weren't for my maw in a care center around the corner from where I live, I'd just stay in the house all the time except for the store (I hate going to the store and carrying it).

Hey, any other states have to buy their bags now? I mean if you don't have your own totes or bags, you have to buy their bags or is this just in California? Didn't know if it was State or Federal.

Thank you all for all your input and help. Knowing you guys REALLY know how it is helps me not feel as alone. Thank you!

Ju
