New Here needing Information

Hi Folks

I am new to this forum, and I really need more information about DID. I was diagnosed with DID a couple of years ago,
after having a bad accident in which I damaged part of my brain. I now have split personalities, some of which
have there own name as well as their own identities (some are male identified, some do not have a gender identity, some
believe they are the "core") I wonder if there is any information or resources about this idea of a "core"?
Actually I just need some information about DID and managing DID in general, because I have never ever
had a positive experience with a therapist (in that I ended up knowing more information than the therapist and they
telling me that its "all in my head and not true" or that I was lying)

Are you saying the brain damage is the cause of the other personalities? When people talk about "the core", they usually mean the original personality. Basically, it's the personality who was born to the body, and everyone else split off from that person. The core isn't necessarily the host (host = the one who's out most of the time...i.e. who people consider the "real" you), and there isn't always a core personality.
